See the work
I make the film, the photographs, and the design for companies that build something with their hands.
Most of the work starts in a shop or a yard rather than a conference room, and it stays there until I understand who your customer is and what they are actually afraid of. Then we point a camera at it.

I started Stump & Root in 2024 because the companies I admired around here were doing extraordinary work and had no way to show it. I bring in a crew when a job needs one, and I am on every shoot, so there is no account manager standing between you and the person making the thing.
I take on a small number of clients a year, which is the only way the work stays this good.
The name comes from Isaiah 11, the shoot that grows out of the stump and the root that bears fruit. Shoot carries both meanings, and I liked that.
More about meThe film that lives on your homepage and does the first twenty minutes of every sales call for you.
One shoot day, then a library your team pulls from for a year instead of scrambling every time.
The identity, the site, and the catalog, so the whole thing looks like it came from one place.
