Meet the client

Fisher’s Backyard Structures designs and builds custom outdoor structures like pavilions, pergolas, and gazebos, with over 5,000 creations. Their mission is to foster connection and community through memorable outdoor spaces.

Challenges

Fisher’s wanted to improve their social media presence, refine their brand story, and better address audience pain points. They also felt their outdated logo didn’t reflect the premium quality of their work.

Our Process

We started with a discovery call with Manny and Brad to understand their business, products, and mission. This helped clarify their goals and vision, and by the end, they found our questions valuable in shaping their brand’s voice and message.

Brand Story & Messaging

We shifted focus to developing a new tagline. A good tagline should capture both the offer and the emotional connection with the audience. Two taglines came to mind. "Where Outdoor Living Begins" felt right but was more of a call to action than a true tagline. We presented several options, and Manny and Brad loved "Built To Last, Crafted For Memories." It perfectly conveys the quality of the structures while reflecting what customers truly want—an extension of their home for lasting memories.

We created two client avatars—one for couples seeking outdoor spaces and another for businesses wanting more seating. This helped shape a copy voice  that addressed their pain points. We developed Fisher’s Brand Story, Voice, Messaging, and more, with a professional, approachable tone reflecting the family-like atmosphere we experienced in meetings. This foundation guided all copy, social media, and future materials. Manny and Brad felt we truly understood their brand and were confident in our approach.

Logo & Design

The tagline was key, and once it was set, we began reworking the logo. The original felt too confined, with thin lines and a small "Fisher’s" that was easily overlooked. Since people know the company as "Fisher’s," the new logo needed to make the name prominent, strong, and approachable. The new design needed to feel youthful while reflecting their experience. We kept the gazebo icon, as it represents backyard structures, but updated it for versatility and strength. The bold design conveys durability, and the color palette was chosen to feel warm, fresh, and modern.

Video Shoots

We wrote scripts for five short-form and one long-form video, all aligned with Fisher’s brand voice and target audience. These videos serve as 24/7 sales tools, with each featuring a hook, a pain point, and a clear call to action. We filmed with Kacie, one of Fisher’s sales reps, creating a fun and warm shoot despite the cold. Despite a noisy location, we got great footage. It was great working with Kacie, who understood the sales process. We shot and staged the video, showcasing Fisher’s structures.

For our second shoot, we filmed a testimonial with a loyal customer at his home, showcasing the outdoor structure in action. We prepared questions for the interview, learning how the structure enhanced his home and family life. It was fun playing the interviewer while filming. We wanted the shot to feel authentic, capturing the structure as part of daily life. We used natural backlighting to create a warm, inviting tone and let the customer’s story take center stage without relying on artificial setups.

Photography

Photography is such an important part of displaying their structures and how skilled their installation is.

In our continuation of our collaboration, Fisher's enlisted us to photograph their team. They had recently moved into a new facility, and it allowed us to use their space to show who they are. We were able to photograph the core staff along with their whole installation team.
